Former Trade Minister Ekwow Spio-Garbrah has voiced doubts about the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) ability to safeguard Ghana's finances if they retain power after the 2024 elections.
His concerns arose after Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer, urged Ghanaians to trust him to protect the public purse.
In a Channel One TV interview, Spio-Garbrah accused the NPP of mishandling funds and endorsed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a better alternative for transparency and accountability.
He questioned Bawumia’s economic record as Vice President, noting issues with the exchange rate, and urged voters to consider change for responsible governance.
