Transportation challenges in Accra, marked by gridlocked traffic, unreliable public transit, and high commuting costs, remain a major concern as the 2024 elections approach.

Voters are questioning whether political parties will deliver on their promises to address these issues.

The NPP pledges to lower fuel costs through its Gold for Oil policy and introduce electric vehicles, alongside past commitments like road infrastructure upgrades and urban decongestion plans.

The NDC emphasizes reviving the Tema Oil Refinery, railway development, and restoring the Aayalolo bus system. Smaller parties, such as the Movement for Change, propose overhauling public transit and improving traffic management.

However, many Ghanaians express skepticism about these promises, citing poor implementation and maintenance.

As voter patience wanes, tangible results—not rhetoric—will determine if transport policies can sway decisions in December.
